AS Citadele Banka stops processing all payments to and from Russia and Belarus for private customers

As of August 20th, 2022, we have stopped all incoming and outgoing payments to and from Russia, including pensions and benefits that are not received via the Latvian State Social Insurance Agency.

Therefore, clients who have received payments from the aforementioned countries are invited to open an account with a Latvian bank that provides this financial service. When transferring a pension or benefits to a different bank account, the recipient must personally inform the responsible institution in Russia.

We would also like to remind you that changes apply to the list of countries for which expanded background checks, and therefore additional fees, apply. Eight countries have been added to the list: Kazakhstan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Incoming and outgoing payments to and from the countries on this list incur an additional commission fee of €150 on top of the standard commission fee.
