As of July, Citadele customers throughout the Baltics can pay using Fitbit and Garmin’s wearable smart devices. Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay payments work exactly like contactless card payments, and are available everywhere with a contactless payment terminal.
Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay are particularly secure, as the card number is not saved in the user’s device or Fitbit and Garmin’s servers, nor is it passed on to third parties. To activate Fitbit Pay or Garmin Pay, card holders must add their payment card to their device.
“We now have another exciting tool. Our aim is to provide the best digital solutions to our customers. We were the first to start offering various mobile and wearable payment solutions, and we are happy to welcome a new addition to our already extensive payment family: Garmin Pay un Fitbit Pay! If you have a Fitbit or Garmin device, link it to your payment card and try out our new payment function,” explains Citadele Board Member Vladislavs Mironovs.
“This collaboration with Citadele is a significant step for Garmin’s growth in the Baltics. It is also a mark of mutual trust between the companies: Garmin Pay is a convenient, modern and secure contactless payment tool for active lifestyle devotees which has been integrated into all our newest smartwatch models and is now available to Citadele customers throughout the Baltics. User security and ease have always been Garmin’s top priorities, and users appreciate the option of making payments directly with their smartwatch while travelling, hiking, exercising outdoors or simply walking without risk of losing their bank card or cash,” explains Dmitrijs Ļisicins, Head of Sales and Marketing for Garmin in the Baltics.
The new payment types are another addition to Citadele’s existing range of payments, making it the biggest range of consumer payment solutions in the Baltics. Using contactless tools, Citadele customers can pay using Apple Pay, Fitbit pay, Garmin Pay, Android phones, rings, wristbands and stickers.
