The international Citywireglobal.com business portal, which offers evaluations of fund managers and analysis of investments to professional investors, has praised two fund managers at CBL Asset Management, which is a subsidiary of the Citadele Bank.
CBL Baltic Sea Equity Fund manager Kristiāna Janvare has been declared to be the second best investment fund manager in Eastern Europe, while Edgars Lao has been named as one of the world’s ten best securities fund managers during the first half of 2015.
“This praise from Citywireglobal.com shows that CBL Asset Management has high-level specialists whose achievements are appreciated by investors and by international investment experts,” says CBL Asset Management board chairman Uldis Upenieks. “The success is the result of successful teamwork and an investment process that has been carefully developed over the course of the past several years. I thank my team for these outstanding results, and I hope that they will not rest on their laurels.”
During the past five years, the CBL Baltic Sea Equity Fund has been one of the most profitable funds in Eastern Europe. Managed by Kristiāna Janvare, it has consistently outperformed other funds in Eastern Europe, with the value of the fund increasing by 32.5% between February 2010 and February 2015. It is thanks to this achievement that Ms Janvare was declared by Citywireglobal.com to be the second best fund manager in Eastern Europe, giving her the high rating of A.
CBL Asset Management portfolio manager Edgars Lao, in turn, has been listed by the portal as one of the top 10 securities fund managers in the world during the first half of 2015. During that period, the CBL Easter European Bond Fund, which Lao manages, has posted outstanding results, outperforming other Eastern European securities market funds by an average of 10%.
